I'm so Jazzed I learned how to upload photos here!!!!!

Warning from God

15 "I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You're not cold, you're not hot--far better to be either cold or hot! 16 You're stale. You're stagnant. You make me want to vomit. 17 You brag, "I'm rich, I've got it made, I need nothing from anyone,' oblivious that in fact you're a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless.
18 "Here's what I want you to do: Buy your gold from me, gold that's been through the refiner's fire. Then you'll be rich. Buy your clothes from me, clothes designed in Heaven. You've gone around half-naked long enough. And buy medicine for your eyes from me so you can see, really see.
19 "The people I love, I call to account--prod and correct and guide so that they'll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God!
20 "Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I'll come right in and sit down to supper with you. 21 Conquerors will sit alongside me at the head table, just as I, having conquered, took the place of honor at the side of my Father. That's my gift to the conquerors!
22 "Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches."--Revelation chapter 3

INFUSION

At work this InformationTechnology Technician put his device into one computer and copied over all of my files to another computer. This motivated me to look up "infuse/infusion" as related to God. I'd wished I could have composed a poem regarding it. [ It also remined me of Spock's Mind Meld. Now you know I'm old.] Lately I feel distant from God and from people. If I could just get a Jesus infusion! Seriously.
Infuse Defined: To fill or cause to be filled with something
Philippians 4: 12-14 (amplified)
12 I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want.
13 I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal
to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me
; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].
14 But it was right and commendable and noble of you to contribute for my needs and to share my difficulties with me.

1 Thessalonians 3: 10-13 (The Message)
10 We do what we can, praying away, night and day, asking for the bonus of seeing your faces again and doing what we can to help when your faith falters.
11 May God our Father himself and our Master Jesus clear the road to you! 12 And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it
does from us to you. 13 May you be infused with strength and purity
, filled with confidence in the presence of God our Father when our Master Jesus arrives with all his followers.

Decrease Risk for Alzheimers

I really like these Food Guide Pyramids from Mayo Health Clinic:
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/healthy-diet/NU00190

Increase fruits, vegetables, legumes, and cereals; have some fish and alcohol, and less dairy and meat. (I personally believe that nonfat dairy is healthy).
The Mediterranean diet may reduce risk for Alzheimer's disease, according to a community-based study conducted in New York.

http://www.nature.com/news/2006/060417/full/060417-2.html
The Mediterranean diet is known to be high in fruits, vegetables, cereals, but low in meat and dairy products. A group of 2,258 non-demented individuals from the Washington Heights-Inwood Columbia Aging Project participated in the study. They were instructed to be on the diet for an average of four years.
During the course of the study, 262 individuals were diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.........
The Mediterranean diet has also been linked to a lower risk for cardiovascular disease, several forms of cancer, and overall mortality.

F O R G I V E N E S S

I was thinking about Jesus Christ dying for me.
Can you believe he wanted those who hurt him to be forgiven?
How hard would that be for me? Impossible?
We all hurt Him. No one culture race religion was to blame.
Enjoy the song lyrics.

I can see Jesus hanging on a cross
I can see Jesus hanging on a cross
Oh, I can see Jesus hanging on a cross
He came looking for the lost
And love has come Love has come
Love has come And given me hope to carry on
I can hear Jesus saying Father forgive (Father forgive)
I can hear Jesus saying Father forgive (Father forgive them)
I can hear Jesus saying Father forgive
And what a thing He did
Love has come
Love has come
Love has come
And given me hope to carry on
And I can see love
Love is all I want to see
It can make a beggar rich
It can set a prisoner free
I know He can do it for you
God knows He did it for me
And I can see love
And love is all I want to show you Love
Love's the only way to go And love
But love is all a man might need to know
This I know
And you know Peter put away his sword
I can see Peter putting away his sword
Well I can see Peter put away his sword
He won't fight no more Love has come
Love has come Love has come
And given me hope to carry on
To carry on To carry on

Be here in my eyes
So others may see
The beauty and presence of Your love
In one who was blind but now believes
Be here in my heart
Flow through my blood
Strengthen my soul and wash me clean
A living example of what Your grace has done
I will walk beside You
I give You my life
And when others seek to find You
May I be a light that shines
Be here in my hands
Give me Your touch
Use me to comfort and to build
Shelter for those who need Your love
Breathe words to my lips
So I may speak
Echo Your truth and living words
Lord, make me all I can be
I will walk beside You
Jesus, I give You my life
And when others seek to find You
May I be the light that shines
Be here in my heart
Flow through my blood
Strengthen my soul and wash me clean
Lord, make me all that I can be
Lord, please make me all that I can be

STOP WORRYING

At the end of today's broadcast Greg Laurie said "Fear Not" is the advice most given by Jesus. There are so many things in this world we could be afraid of.

Breaking Free from Worry by: Greg Laurie
http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/A_New_Beginning/Article.asp?article_id=581
Have you ever been gripped by fear? You know the feeling. A shiver downs your spine. Your stomach has a sinking sensation. Your mouth goes dry. Maybe it happened when you were in a life-threatening situation, or at least you thought you were. Some people actually thrive on fear and will spend their hard-earned dollars to be scared out of their minds. They will go to a movie because they have heard it is really scary or go to an amusement park to ride the most extreme ride. But like it or not, fear is a very real emotion that most of us would rather avoid.
Unfortunately, fear has a friend called worry, and the two work in tandem. For example, maybe something frightens you, and you begin to think about the worst thing that could possibly happen. What if this happens? What if that happens? You can worry yourself into a state of panic.
Medical research has proven that worry can be physically harmful. It can affect our nervous systems and make us less resistant to disease. Experts have stated that excessive worry can shorten the human life. It is ironic that we worry about our lives, but in doing so, we actually can shorten them.
I am glad that the apostle Paul took the time to address the subject of worry and give us God's antidote for it:
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (Philippians 4:6–8 NKJV) When Paul wrote these words, he was not living in an ivory tower, spinning off impractical theories. He was in some very difficult circumstances. Paul wanted to go to Rome to preach, but instead, he ended up there as a prisoner. Now he awaited his fate. His case could come up any day. He didn't know whether he would be acquitted or beheaded. Paul had plenty to worry about. But in the midst of these circumstances, Paul offered three steps that will help us break free
from worry.
The first step is right praying (verse 6–7). When we are gripped by fear and worry, we need to pray. If you want to be free from worry, then you need to be a person who prays. Jesus taught us to pray, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:9 NKJV). When you put God's will above your own and start praying and thinking about His greatness, then all of your problems start shrinking, not because they are getting smaller, but because you have begun to realize how big God is. It puts your problems in perspective.
Second, we need to take the step of right thinking (verse 8). Maintaining personal peace involves both the heart and the mind. If you want peace in your heart, then you have to get your thoughts in order, because what we think about ultimately affects what we do. We want to nip in the bud any thoughts that would be impure or spiritually destructive. Isaiah 26:3 promises, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You" (NKJV).
The third step is right living (verse 9). You cannot separate outward action from inward attitude. When you live a wicked life, you are constantly in turmoil, because sin always results in unrest. In contrast, when you live right before God, you have His peace. Isaiah 32:17 says, "The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever" (NKJV).
Are you a person who is gripped by worry today? Before you can know the peace of God, you need to have peace with God. But this is only possible through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. To learn more, simply go to
http://www.knowgod.org/.
If you're reading this today and know Jesus Christ, then you don't have to worry about tomorrow. God is in control of your life. You may not know what tomorrow holds, but you know who holds tomorrow. Friday, September 19, 2003

The types of black hole mergers predicted by Einstein's general relativity have been accurately simulated in a computer model for the first time......
Black holes are regions of space where matter is packed so tightly that the resulting gravity ensnares matter and even light.
Einstein's general relativity predicts that when black holes merge, they will emit gravitational waves that distort the fabric of space-time like ripples spreading across a pond......

DINOSAUR MORE THAN 40 FEET LONG

Enormous Meat-Loving Dinosaur Found
http://dsc.discovery.com/news/briefs/20060417/meatdino_din.html
April 18, 2006— Remains of an enormous species of carnivorous dinosaur, which was longer than all other previously identified meat-eating dinos, have been found in western Patagonia, according to a news conference held there on Monday.
Researchers announced that the newly discovered meat muncher, Mapusaurus roseae, belongs to a group of gigantic carnivorous dinosaurs called carcharodontosaurids. This group includes Giganotosaurus, the largest meat-eating dinosaur to ever walk the earth.
The discovery is published in the latest issue of the journal Geodiversitas.
Paleontologists say Mapusaurus exceeded 41 feet in length and had a shinbone that was longer than that of Giganotosaurus. The current record-holder, however, retains its "largest" title because Giganotosaurus would have been wider and heavier than Mapusaurus.......

NEW YORK — Scientists are learning more about what appears to be one of the biggest meat-eating dinosaurs known, a two-legged beast whose bones were found several years ago in the fossil-rich Patagonia region of Argentina.
One expert called the discovery the first substantial evidence of group living by large meat-eaters other than tyrannosaurs like T. rex.

TRUE WORSHIP

http://www.harvest.org/devotional/index.php/1.html
......True worship is not merely the singing of worship songs. Rather, it is living our lives in a way that is pleasing to God. In fact, our singing and our prayers are just the outward manifestations of a life daily lived for the glory of God.What is God looking for today? He is looking for true worshipers. He is seeking such to worship Him. Greg Laurie

http://www.preachersfiles.com/worship/000752.htm
..........Someone once wrote: "To worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God; to feed the mind with the truth of God; to purge the imagination by the beauty of God; to open the heart to the love of God; and to devote the will to the purpose of God."
Truly, everyone of us need to grow in quality, meaningful and true worship...........

Conclusion:
1. Jesus taught concerning true worship and true worshippers, but such implies false worship and false worshippers.
2. To better appreciate the true we must clear away the false
3. Think about these questions as we conclude:
1) Am I growing each day in the grace of gratitude?
2) Am I seeking to honor God in all that I do?
3) Do I greatly anticipate and look forward to each time of worship?
4) Do I bring the right heart as I engage in worship to God?

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

Thank you, from Little Miss Sunshine(Filed: 17/04/2006)
A girl who made medical history when her heart transplant was
reversed after 10 years paid tribute yesterday to the "very nice man" who saved her life.
Hannah Clark, who was two years old when she was given a donor organ to "piggyback" her own, spent a decade with two hearts in her chest after a procedure by the renowned heart specialist Prof Sir Magdi Yacoub.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/main.jhtml?view=DETAILS&grid=P8&xml=/health/2006/04/17/nheart14.xml

Heart good as new after transplant
BRITISH doctors have revived a 12-year-old girl's dormant heart and removed a donor heart which she had started to reject.Hannah Clark, who lives in south Wales, underwent the operation in February in London by surgeons advised by specialist Sir Magdi Yacoub who came out of retirement at the request of the girl's parents.
Hannah had enjoyed good health until November when, in a routine examination, a cardiologist found her body was rejecting the organ which Yacoub had transplanted 10 years ago.
She then had been suffering from cardiomyopathy, which made her heart double in size and (the heart) threatened to fail within a year.
"We are delighted that Hannah is doing so well,' a spokesman for the cardiac team at Great Street Ormond Hospital said. "We believe this combination of circumstances is the first in the UK.'..........

A DIFFICULT JOB

So many people are so quick to judge. I think the job of pastor is very hard. I think we need to give grace to our pastors. Help them as we can. Be truthful. Encourage them. Pray for them. Be Patient. Be kind. Talk to them, not about them. Be willing to accept that just because you did not like the sermon, that sermon may have been just what most of the congregation needed to hear!
If you have ideas that could help your pastor improve worship and church programs share them! Be willing to help make changes. Pray before during and after the pastor's sermon that God's will would be accomplished through the message. Pray for people to accept God's challenges of growth toward Christ.

Excerpts from: THE OFFICE OF PASTOR:
http://www.teachingpages.co.uk/minilesson/pastorsduty.html
From this we see God expects His pastors to -
==>seek Him
==>inquire of Him
==>require Him - which is to petition Him in prayer.

We also see that He expects, as a consequence of doing this, that they will -
==>conduct themselves wisely
==>ensure that the flock stays together in unity.

God's expectation of pastors
Ezekiel also provides us with a similar understanding of God's expectation for His pastors. He writes,
"Thus says the Lord God to the shepherds: 'Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?'" Ezekiel 34:2 - NKJV.
What does God expect from His shepherds, His pastors? He expects them to spiritually feed (that is, nourish) God's people.
Ezekiel continues,
"The weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but with force and cruelty you have ruled them." Ezekiel 34:4 - NKJV.
From these two verses from Ezekiel we see that God expects his pastors to -
==>feed the sheep
==>strengthen the feeble
==>heal the sick
==>bandage the hurt
==>bring back those driven away
==>seek those who are lost.

So from this we see the pastor - who is the overseer of the flock - must watch out for his members' souls. This is bound to involve at times exhorting against sin. Exhortation usually involves correction - a call to dispense with the bad or less than best in order to take hold of God's best for you. Correction isn't easy to take but it is necessary. Those who accept it and are improved by it will receive a good reward. Heb.12:9-11.

A promise of pastors
God clearly expects a lot of His pastors but He doesn't leave them to do it on their own in their own strength and sufficiency. (Phil.4:13; 2 Cor.3:4-6)
In Jeremiah God gives a wonderful prophecy,
"I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge (of God) and understanding (of His ways)." Jeremiah 3:15 - NKJV. [Words in parenthesis are mine]

Other roles for the pastor?
You also asked me about the boundaries of the pastor's duties. I think God's job description of the office of pastor - as we have seen it here through scripture - sets well the boundaries of his duties.
In a given church situation, however, the pastor may have to take on other roles besides that of pastor. His challenge is then to maintain the effectiveness of his pastoral role in the face of the pressure on time made by the other roles.
At times the congregation may have to be confronted with the time and role problems a pastor may be having and together they'll have to look for a solution. In such a case, you have a situation very similar to the one we see faced by the apostles and the church as it is recorded in Acts 6:1-7.
May the people of God be blessed with pastors according to the Lord's own heart!

EASTER POEM

EASTER REFLECTIONS by Helen Steiner Rice

With OUR EYES we see
The beauty of Easter
as the earth awakens once more...
With OUR EARS we hear
The birds sing sweetlyto tell us
Spring again is here...
With OUR HANDS we pick
the golden daffodils
and the fragrant hyacinths...
But only with OUR HEARTS
can we feel the MIRACLE of GOD'S LOVE
which redeems all men...
And only with OUR SOUL
can we make our 'pilgrimage to God'
and inherit His Easter Gift of ETERNAL LIFE

Church on Easter

If you go to church tomorrow, Easter,
do yourself a favor.
Really seek to meet Jesus Christ. Participate.
Pray or Sing or Think or Read the Bible.
Don't just watch for the pastor
to make a mistake,
or take in how wonderful (or not)
the choir sounds,
or judge the people around you.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to minister
to you right then. Don't wait.
Listen and Obey the (soft quiet true real firm) voice of God
speaking to your heart mind and soul.
"God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent him to save them! No one who has faith in God's Son will be condemned. But everyone who doesn't have faith in him has already been condemned for not having faith in God's only Son.
The light has come into the world, and people who do evil things are judged guilty because they love the dark more than the light. People who do evil hate the light and won't come to the light, because it clearly shows what they have done. But everyone who lives by the truth will come to the light, because they want others to know that God is really the one doing what they do."--John 3:16-21

REMINDER / EXAMPLE

Reminds me of when Jesus prayed:
" Father, forgive them; they don't know what they're doing."

What motivated Mel Gibson to make a movie about Jesus' final hours?
In an interview that appeared in the February 2004 issue of the Knights of Columbus magazine Columbia, Mel Gibson said the following about deciding to make the film, "About 13 years ago I came to a difficult point in my life, and meditating on Christ's sufferings, on his passion, got me through it. ... And when I did that, through reading, and studying, and meditating and praying, I began to see in my own mind what he really went through. ... The story, the way I envisioned the suffering of Christ, got inside me and started to grow, and it reached a point where I just had to tell it, to get it out." http://www.chasingthefrog.com/reelfaces/passion.php

GOOD QUOTE

"The fruit of the spirit only grows in the garden of obedience." Pastor Greg Laurie

1 John 5: 1-5 (the message)
1 Every person who believes that Jesus is, in fact, the Messiah, is God-begotten. If we love the One who conceives the child, we'll surely love the child who was conceived. 2 The reality test on whether or not we love God's children is this: Do we love God? Do we keep his commands? 3 The proof that we love God comes when we keep his commandments and they are not at all troublesome. 4 Every God-begotten person conquers the world's ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith. 5 The person who wins out over the world's ways is simply the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God.

HONG KONG Apr 1, 2006 (AP)— Jackie Chan
says he's still in pain from a recent chest injury sustained while filming his latest movie, "Rob-B-Hood."
"It's still swollen. It really hurts," the
51-year-old action star
told reporters Friday at the opening festivities of a Hong Kong rugby tournament. Chan, whose screen credits include roles in the "Rush Hour" movies, said an X-ray showed no broken bones but cartilage injury.
"Breathing hurts. … It hurts to draw my fist. It's been hard filming fight scenes these past two days," he said. Chan was injured March 23 when a stuntman wearing the wrong shoes kicked him. He has suffered numerous injuries performing his own stunts.
